Todo Cambia

What is happening in Argentina, what happened in Argentina in December 2001, what happened in Cochabamba in 2000, what happened and is still happening in Equador since 2000; the fall of various presidents in Argentina, in Bolivia, in Equador; what happened in Arequipa in 2001- the uprising of the people against privatisation of electricity; what is still happening today in Atenco against the construction of the tourist airport; what's happening now with the indigenous movement in Brazil, the important revolutionary process of Venezuela, the peaceful, democratic process of Uraguayan people to keep water in public collective ownership. It is the process that saw us, that is as a community, develop a greater capacity to organise and mobilise against neoliberalism.

This is why I came over here today; for us to establish a bridge between the nations of the north and the nations of the south. Because our anguish, our suffering, our problems, are the same; our enemies are the same and our victories are real victories.

I think that the important thing is that we are here and living and if we are still here alive, we can keep on dreaming and if we can keep on dreaming, our obligation is to keep on fighting for a better world.
